Kiosk Interaction Features
All interaction features for kiosks
TelemetryOS kiosk interaction features enhance user engagement on touchscreen devices, enabling customized interactions with playlist content. These features require a touchscreen device that can double as a display or a touchscreen display with a compatible device attached.
Kiosk Interaction Settings
Kiosk interaction features configuration occurs through Playlists from the left-hand toolbar. The Configuration tab Kiosk Interaction settings panel provides access to all customization options for touchscreen interactions.
Customization Options
The kiosk interaction system offers several customization options that tailor user experience to specific needs. The Tap Interaction feature provides two distinct behaviors for when users tap the screen. Show Default Page configuration causes tapping the screen to stop playlist cycling and immediately display the Default Page, useful for switching to important pages with simple tap gesture. Alternatively, Pause Playlist option causes tapping to pause the playlist on the current page for the duration specified by the Interaction Timeout setting, ideal for displaying information for predetermined duration after user interaction.
The Interaction Timeout setting determines page remaining on screen duration after no interaction occurs with the Default page. This setting becomes particularly relevant when Pause Playlist is selected as the Tap Interaction behavior, ensuring kiosk automatically returns to its scheduled content flow.
Touch navigation becomes more dynamic with Swipe to Change Pages feature, which controls user ability to swipe left or right to manually cycle through playlist pages. This functionality operates simultaneously with tap interaction settings, providing users with multiple content navigation ways.
For media-rich content, Media Zone Swiping feature allows users to swipe through media on touchscreen displays, creating interactive slideshow experience. This feature automatically applies to playlist pages containing media slideshows on supported touchscreen devices without requiring additional configuration.
Combine tap-to-pause with a short timeout to ensure kiosks return to scheduled content after interaction.
