Billing & Pricing
TelemetryOS pricing model, billing processes, and subscription management
Billing & Pricing
TelemetryOS uses an annual, device-license model designed for predictability. Hardware is purchased once, and software coverage is managed through account-level device entitlements with additional platform plan options that match organizational needs.
Pricing Model Overview
- Hardware purchase: Purpose-built Node devices for reliable, 24/7 operation.
- Device licenses: Each active Node device consumes one license entitlement.
- Included Node coverage: Genuine Node Mini, Node Pro, and future Node-family hardware receive one included year from the original in-service date.
- Annual license fees: After included coverage, Node devices renew at $99/year.
- Account plans: Standard, Premium, and Enterprise add capabilities on top of device management.
- Transparent alignment: Costs scale with the number of active screens and the depth of platform features the team needs.
Picking the Right Plan
Choose based on priorities rather than feature checklists:
| Priority | What to consider | Typical plan |
|---|---|---|
| Getting started | Core CMS, playlists, built‑in apps | Standard |
| Integrations | API access, webhooks, CI/CD, AI features | Premium |
| Governance & scale | SSO, audit logs, advanced controls, dedicated guidance | Enterprise |

How Device Licenses are Billed
- Node classification: Billing classifies genuine Node-family hardware using both a supported Node serial and the expected Node model.
- Included Node year: Genuine Node-family devices receive included coverage for one year from the original in-service date. Re-pairing the same serial does not reset that date.
- Paid coverage: Node devices require paid license coverage after their included year unless the account already has unused entitlement capacity.
- Invoice-gated release: If a device needs paid coverage, Billing-Service creates an invoice and the device enters a pending-payment license state until the invoice is paid.
- Inventory management: Remove unused devices from the inventory to keep license usage accurate. Rule of thumb: If a device is deployed and receiving content, plan for it to consume an active device license.
Annual Cycle and Alignment
- Account anniversary: Annual device-license renewals align to the account's billing anniversary.
- Renewal notice: Annual renewal invoices are generated ahead of the anniversary so teams can review counts and payment.
- Alignment credits: Mid-year paid licenses and remaining included Node coverage are credited on the renewal invoice for any overlap with the upcoming account year.
- License states: Devices can be licensed, pending payment, expired, or covered through an included Node date.
- Planning: Review device counts and plan tier before renewal to avoid surprises.
Payment
- Self‑serve: Card payments via our billing provider for Standard and Premium tiers; fast upgrades and simple management.
- Enterprise: Custom invoicing (e.g., ACH/wire), security reviews, and procurement processes handled with the account team.
- Currency: Pricing is generally denominated in USD; regional considerations will apply for outside the USA.
Policies
- Annual terms: Subscriptions renew annually unless changed before the renewal date.
- Non‑refundable once invoiced: Credits typically apply to future cycles rather than refunds.
- Notifications: Renewal reminders are sent in advance so teams can review counts and plan needs.
