Pairing
Manual device enrollment for small deployments
Pairing enrolls a Node Pro or other device with the TelemetryOS fleet so it appears in the management console, receives apps/config, and reports health. Proper pairing ensures devices are tracked (serial/MAC), assigned to groups, and provisioned with the right network, security, and content policies.
Pairing is the manual enrollment method for connecting devices to TelemetryOS. During pairing, devices display a unique code that is entered into TelemetryOS Studio to establish the device-to-account connection. This method supports deployments of up to 10 devices.
Pairing Methods
TelemetryOS supports two pairing methods, both achieving the same enrollment result.
| Method | Input | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Code entry | Alphanumeric code typed into TelemetryOS Studio | Desktop browser access |
| QR code | QR code scanned with mobile device | Mobile device access |
What Pairing Establishes
Successful pairing creates the following device-to-account associations:
- Account binding: Device links to the TelemetryOS account
- Device tracking: Serial number and MAC address registered in fleet inventory
- Content delivery: Device receives assigned playlists and applications
- Health reporting: Device reports status and diagnostics to TelemetryOS Studio
- Remote management: Device responds to commands from TelemetryOS Studio
For larger deployments requiring automated enrollment, see Provisioning.
