Interactive Features (Legacy)
Legacy interactive folders for on-device navigation.
The interactive folders feature provides comprehensive navigation and control capabilities that enhance user interaction with TelemetryOS's digital signage platform. This functionality centers around an interactive menu system that allows users to browse and control playlist content directly from their devices.
Interactive menu access uses keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl-I) within the TelemetryOS Electron app and compatible players. Menu activation toggles left-side menu strip visibility, providing playlist browsing capabilities. The menu bar maintains no persistent state, reverting to default behavior on device restart.
The Show Interactive Menu device flag (device list configuration, disabled by default) controls automatic menu display on device startup. Enabled flag state triggers automatic interactive menu presentation, enabling navigation features without manual activation.
The interactive menu incorporates essential navigation controls, including next, previous, play, and pause buttons that follow the established design specifications. These controls provide users with direct playback management without requiring external input devices.
A prominent menu icon serves as the gateway to playlist visualization, enabling users to view playlist pages in an intuitive thumbnail mode. This overlay interface preserves the full playing area without reducing the content display space, ensuring that the viewing experience remains uncompromised.
Search and filtering functionality supports content location through character-based input, triggering automatic playlist page filtering matching search criteria. Blue highlighting indicates currently-playing pages, providing active content visual feedback.
Page selection navigation supports direct content access within playlists. Page selection from menus triggers immediate playlist shift to selected content, playback pause, and page list concealment, focusing attention on chosen content.
The interface incorporates smooth animation transitions as pages slide left and right during navigation, while vertical scrolling support ensures easy access to extensive playlist collections. These visual enhancements create an intuitive and responsive user experience.
Content zone selection functionality allows administrators to designate specific content zone items within pages as select in interactive mode options. This capability enables precise targeting of particular content types, such as media items within media folders or Web Screenshots folders.
When content supports additional selection levels, the system displays a chevron-right indicator adjacent to the thumbnail image. This visual cue signals that users can access a grid interface containing individual items within the selected folder, providing granular content control.
The system implements an automatic collapse feature that monitors user interaction patterns. If no user input occurs for 60 seconds after engaging the interactive menu, all displayed interface elements automatically collapse, and normal playlist playback resumes without interruption.
For optimized performance with single-page playlists, the system intelligently adapts its display behavior. When a playlist contains only one page with selectable items, the page list remains hidden, and pressing the menu icon directly displays the media folder item selection screen, streamlining the user experience.
Interactive Folders deliver comprehensive navigation and control capabilities that significantly enhance user interaction within TelemetryOS's digital signage platform, providing intuitive access to content management and playback control features.
