# Group Management Define role-based permissions and organize access by teams # User Groups and Permissions TelemetryOS manages access rights for various features through user groups and permissions. The system simplifies user group assignment, role definition, and permission level configuration. # User Groups Creation User groups represent user collectives, each assigned specific permission or privilege sets. Permissions control access to TelemetryOS features, apps, media content folders, playlists, screen overrides, devices (media players), publishing, and more. The first user, typically the account creator, receives Admin group assignment by default. Admin group members possess unrestricted access to all account areas. Additional users can be accommodated through customized groups with tailored permissions. The group management interface within **SETTINGS** provides group creation capabilities. Group configuration defines characteristics and permissions for each user collective. Group creation requires name specification and applicable permission configuration through the interface controls. Settings align with organizational needs to establish appropriate access boundaries. # Users Addition to Groups The user management system provides group assignment capabilities through the **User Groups** interface. User assignment functionality enables administrators to control access patterns across the organization. The interface provides user management options for adding users to groups. The system displays available account users and completes assignments through the user management workflow. User group assignments can also occur through the [Users](https://docs.telemetryos.com/docs/users) menu or during new user invitation processes. # Permissions Assignment User group membership determines feature visibility within the TelemetryOS interface. Features lacking appropriate permissions do not appear for users in that group. The system provides permission controls for apps, media content folders, playlists, screen overrides, devices (media players), and metrics through the respective interface sections. **Location Based Folders** provide optimal organization through folder structures for each location, region, or department. This organizational architecture ensures users access and edit only folders relevant to their area. ## Viewer Only Permissions TelemetryOS **Viewer Only** permissions enable view-only user groups with restricted access to playlist content. View-only users access playlists through the TelemetryOS **Desktop App**, providing secure content viewing from any location. This feature enhances content security by requiring authentication for access. ## Uploader Only Permissions **Uploader** permissions create user groups with media upload capabilities only. This permission type functions similarly to **Viewer Only**, restricting interface elements to upload functionality for users without additional group memberships. The **Uploader** permission configuration includes **Media Folder** specifications, defining which folders these users can access for media uploads. **Uploader** permission users can only upload and delete media within their designated folders. ## Permission Types ### Administrator Administrators possess full TelemetryOS account control, including content creation, editing, and deletion capabilities, along with user permission management across the entire system. ### Manage Apps This permission grants app creation, editing, and deletion capabilities within TelemetryOS accounts.
